Annual Key Event Dates
15-Sep 23 - Diamond Promotion - After testing, application, inspection and interviews, seniors who aspire to the highest leadership positions in the Raider Brigade are unveiled during an all-school assembly
22-24 Sep 23 - Camp Ripley - Voluntary opportunity for cadets to gather for a weekend of fun and adventure at Camp Ripley
4 Oct 23 - Fall Review - Formal parade to recognize the Brigade’s newly promoted leaders and welcome the new class of 9th grade cadets.
18-Dec 23 - Junior Achievement - The Raider Brigade’s annual Service Learning Project. Cadets plan and prepare civics classes to be presented to K-5 grade students for a day at several local elementary schools.
2 Feb 24 – UMJC - Each year the Raider Brigade hosts about 350 cadets from 12 local and regional JROTC programs who compete in a variety of events to include Marksmanship, Archery, Physical Fitness, Knowledge Bowl, and Tug-O-War.
9 Feb 24 - Military Ball - One of the highlights of the year is always the annual Military Ball, which gives cadets the opportunity to dress up in a formal version of their uniform or an evening gown to experience some Army tradition, eat a wonderful meal, and dance the night away.
21 Mar 24 - Formal Inspection - The annual formal inspection and evaluation is conducted by representatives of the Army Cadet Command. The evaluation includes meetings with the school administration, an evaluation of JROTC and school facilities, a drill presentation, color guard presentation, knowledge examinations and cadet presentations on their Service Learning and Continuous Improvement Projects. Results of this inspection determine which units are named Honor Units of Distinction, a title the Raider Brigade has maintained since the award’s inspection almost 100 years ago.
9 May 24 - Twilight Parade - This annual parade closes out the school year, bids farewell to the Brigade’s graduating seniors, and formally turns-over leadership of the Brigade to the juniors.
28 May - 1 June - JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) - Held at Camp Wilderness in Park Rapids, Raider Brigade cadets join cadets from other Army JROTC programs throughout the region to participate in a host of individual leadership and team-building activities to include: rock wall climbing, rappelling, a high ropes course, archery, kayaking, and orienteering.
