Debate Club
Overview
Debate students develop the fundamental skills of public speaking, argumentation, research, writing, and critical reasoning. By developing their own cases for both sides of a debate, students focus on persuasive public speaking and rely on their own research and skills to establish their claims. Students develop their arguments when the club meets. Topics change regularly throughout the season, enabling students to grapple with current events and explore arguments for a variety of topics.
