2017 Homecoming Coat Drive - A HUGE Success
October 6, 2017
The annual Homecoming Coat Drive took place last week as part of Homecoming. The Cretin-Derham Hall community was asked to donate gently-used coats, jackets, mittens, hats, gloves, and scarves to help our local neighbors in need.
Mrs. Patty Murray reported, "It was probably our most successful coat drive to date. We collected over 20 large black bags of coats, jackets, and more. We have12 bags of adult coats, 5 bags of youth coats, 3 bags of hats and mittens and 3 pairs of boots to deliver."
Thank you to the entire CDH community who made this so successful. All of the donations will be delivered to those in need. Majority of the donations will go to families at Bancroft Elementary in Minneapolis and to Learning in Style, which was started by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet to empower adult immigrants through education. These organizations are two of our service sites where our seniors work every week.
Thanks to the committee of Jamie Urban, Elizabeth Everson, Sam Clausen, and Cece Zieger (not pictured). Ms. Patty Murray serves as the advisor for the committee.
