From the Alumni Board President

Dear fellow alumni,
I am grateful to CDH for the education and opportunities I received during my time there. The faculty and staff at CDH are truly some of the most dedicated individuals I have known. I was blessed to have teachers that cared not only about my academic performance, but about me as a person. They were always finding ways to connect with students and meet them where they were at on their personal and academic journeys. During my time at CDH, I was fortunate enough to participate in basketball, softball, student council, and National Honor Society. I also participated in trips to Costa Rica and Guatemala. My experiences in the Spectrum class and on the Guatemala trip were the most impactful. It was through these experiences that I saw the world outside of St. Paul and began to realize the power of human connection within our families, school systems, and communities. I continue to reflect on my experience at CDH as well as the community of alumni supporting the school. My four years at CDH were full of memories and experiences that I continue to value.
Growing up, my parents believed strongly in Catholic education and worked hard, making many sacrifices to ensure that I had a good education with strong Catholic values. I attended Highland Catholic and always knew I wanted to go to CDH. I graduated from CDH in 1999 and attended St. Mary’s University in Winona to complete my undergraduate degree. I returned to St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis in 2008 to complete my masters degree in marriage and family therapy. I currently hold a license with the state of Minnesota as a marriage and family therapist. I have worked for Washburn Center for Children for 13 years supervising a program that partners with local hospitals to provide rapid intervention for children that have experienced an acute mental health crisis. I live in Mendota Heights with my husband Dustin, our son Griffin who was born in May 2021, our beloved yellow lab Jack Bauer, and two kitties.
As Alumni Board President, I hope to engage with alumni and hear about their stories and experiences at CDH. I benefited from the amazing teachers at the school and the financial support of the alumni community. I would like to encourage our alumni to attend events at CDH, volunteer in any ways they feel they can make a difference, and reach out to share their ideas and opinions. I would like to encourage alumni to engage in events at CDH that will support current students to have the experiences they themselves appreciated. What makes CDH such a great school is the teachers, staff, and community that come together to support students!
Sincerely,
Lindsay Miesbauer Wilhelmy '99
