1940s

Before she was a wife and mother, Betty Laidlaw Jordan'41† was helping U.S. troops during World War II. Read her story as part of the Life Stories segment on WCCO this past month.

Members of the Cretin Class of 1963 met at O'Gara's for their class luncheon.  If you weren't able to meet last month, plan on attending on Thursday, November 9, at O'Gara's at 11:30 a.m.

1980s

Member of the Class of 1985 challenged members of the Class of 1988 to a couple of rounds of golf in the style of the Ryder Cup before attending a Cubs game at Wrigley Field in Chicago this past summer.  The 2019 Raider-Ryder will be hosted in the Twin Cities…maybe ‘85ers will be more successful then.

Health insurer UCare has named interim top executive Mark Traynor'85 as its president and CEO. Traynor has been with UCare for 18 years, previously serving as its Vice President and Chief Legal Officer.

2000s

John Allen Nelson'02 saved Opening Night of the Utah Opera's production of Puccini's La bohème on October 7. He was summoned from Boston to fly across the country from Boston to Salt Lake City to cover for a fellow performer who wasn't feeling well. Showing up at the theater with little rest, he managed to get a quick run through with conductor Robert Tweten and was looking at his music when he took the stage midway through Act 1.
