Aviation Enthusiasts in JROTC Take Flight
Ken Peloski, MSG(R) JROTC Instructor/Operations
March 15, 2017
On March 14, 2017, sixteen JROTC students had the opportunity to spend the day learning about the mission of the Minnesota Air National Guard. It included briefings by each squadron on the 133rd Airlift Wing and the state and global mission. They were briefed on the mission of Security Forces, Engineering, Support, Global Communications, and the Medical Group.
The students finished the day by going on a two-hour training flight aboard a C-130 Hercules aircraft. In addition to observing the 109th Aero-Medical Evacuation Squadron in action, everyone had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit during the flight and interact with the pilots as they flew up around the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, and down the Lake Superior shoreline.
