CDH Celebrates First-Ever Wellness Day
November 19, 2019
On Tuesday, November 19, CDH hosted a Wellness Day for the first time.
"The lives most of us live move fast and are filled with high expectations. It is important for us to create a healthy culture at CDH, one in which students, faculty and staff can find a balance and grow stronger physically, spiritually and emotionally," Assistant Principal Amy Bellus said.
The day began with a wellness-themed mass led by Fr. Ken Pierre in the Pax Christi Chapel.
Each period was kicked off with a different faculty member leading a short, two minute guided meditation over the PA system. During fourth period, students and teachers were provided with a small healthy snack with an affirmation attached.
During lunch, students had the opportunity to blow off some steam in the field house. Finally, students were invited to a Cocoa and Cram session in the Commons after school in order to prep for finals.
The Counseling Department also recorded a podcast about cultivating mindfulness in honor of Wellness Day. Listen here.
This was the first of three Wellness Days we will have this year. We look forward to continuing to promote wellness among our students.
