A group of Raiders walked to raise money for research to cure childhood cancer.

CDH Cares is an opportunity for students to be out of uniform with a purchase of a special CDH Cares sticker.  Proceeds from the sticker sales go to a cause determined by the students.

All the money was raised through the September CDH Cares will go toward research at the University of Minnesota to find a cure for childhood cancers.

This cause was top of mind for a number of Raiders who participated in the "Time to Fly" fundraiser walk at Lake Phalen on Saturday, September 29, 2018! Members of the Cretin-Derham Hall Swim & Dive Team walked with a team named Laura League in honor of classmate Laura Goering '12 who passed away from Osteosarcoma while she was in college. She had battled cancer throughout her high school years. Laura's brother Alex '10 was a swimmer for CDH.

CDH students and faculty presented a check for more than $1,500 raised from CDH Cares to Laura’s father, John.  Mr. Goering was very grateful for the support that the CDH family showed at the "Time to Fly" fundraiser in September and the donation from the student body.

Special thanks to Rory King '19 from the Student Council Service Committee, and Leon Xiong '19 from the Link Crew, who were instrumental in the success of this event.

Other events included Bake Sales, t-shirt sales, and cash gifts.

The Raiders' #TackleCancer football game featured a sold-out Raiders v. Raiders "Real Raiders Wear Pink" t-shirt (pictured) before the Roseville game on October 17, 2018. Student helpers were also in the stands during the game accepting cash donations for this important cause.

All totalled, with CDH Cares, Time to Fly fundraiser, and all the other events during Cancer Awareness Month, we are very proud to say that the students, faculty, and staff raised almost $4,000 to fight cancer!
