CDH Monitoring Coronavirus Risk
March 11, 2020
Cretin-Derham Hall continues to monitor the global outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) with the health and wellness of our students, families, and faculty/staff as our top priority.
The situation is changing rapidly, and there are numerous stories of local impact and contingency plans being implemented in schools and colleges/universities around the country. School leadership is committed to implementing ongoing assessment and implementation of best practices to minimize risk for our community.
Our primary goal is to protect and maintain student, faculty/staff and family health. Rest assured, we are prepared to make safety and wellness decisions that are in the best interest of our entire community. To best manage any infectious disease outbreak, we will follow governmental guidelines, particularly those defined by the Minnesota Department of Health.
As of today, March 11, there has been NO disruption to classes, athletics, fine arts or other activities on campus and operations are continuing as normal.
In the meantime, multiple preparations and resources are in place for our community to best minimize risk or the spread of the virus, including, but not limited to: multiple verbal and posted reminders of proper hand hygiene, directions to stay at home if any student or staff member is not feeling well, and enhanced cleaning protocols campus-wide. Most importantly, faculty and staff are working on a plan to implement online school in the unlikely event the campus must close to reduce the spread of the virus.
We strongly encourage all families to stay informed and follow all precautions for prevention of illness from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding coronavirus (COVID-19).
Keep in mind, as a monthly newsletter, this notice may not be the most up-to-date status on the evolving coronavirus impact at our local level. To keep our families and faculty/staff best informed, we will communicate directly as needed and post updates on our website with the most up-to-date information on CDH, as well as state and national resources.
