CDH Robotics Is Looking For Alumni or Parents To Volunteer

The FIRST® Robotics Competition season run from October – April. The robot build season is 6 weeks beginning the first week of January. Here’s a quick video that explains FIRST.
- Can be a person of any age, teaching others what they know
- Brings either technical or non-technical expertise to the team
- Provides the opportunity for students to learn directly through experience
- Enjoys working with students and has a lifelong learner's mind
Non-Technical Mentors
Project Management Mentor
- Provides an overview of project management concepts for team
- Guides the team throughout the project lifecycle
Scholarship/Award Mentor
- Assists students, mentors, and parents regarding scholarship opportunities available to FIRST students
- Coordinates applications for student/mentor nominations for awards
Marketing Mentor
- Provides a basic overview of marketing concepts
- Assists students with development and implementation of a marketing plan in coordination with the development of a business plan
Finance Mentor
- Assists the team in preparing a business plan, as well as financial planning/budget for the season
- Organizes and assists with fundraising efforts
Technical Mentors
Robot Programming/Software Engineering Mentor

Assists team members with writing code to control robot in C++, Java, Robot C or LabVIEW (depending on program) and maintains process focus
Mechanical Engineer Mentor

Provides assistance with design and construction of the robot

Advises students on the safe use of tools and safety procedures
Electrical Engineer Mentor
- Assists team with wiring the robot’s power and signal system
- Assists and instruct the team members in the electrical and electronics systems on the robot
