CDH Welcomes SFC Brittany Thingvold to our JROTC Department
January 6, 2023
SFC Brittany Thingvold
JROTC INSTRUCTOR
Education: St. Cloud State University, graduated from American Military University with a BA in Management with a concentration in Human Resources Management
Previous work: I immediately enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard following high school, and served for 23 years retiring in 2020. In my next chapter of life, I wanted to continue to be a public servant in some fashion, given my passion for my community. I accepted a position as a Recruitment and Retention Human Resources Specialist for the City of Maple Grove, MN where I resided at the time - until SGM Berrisford recruited me to CDH!
Why did you choose to work at CDH?
When the rare position at CDH became available, SGM Berrisford reached out to me personally to interview with this remarkable school. Additionally, COL Scrocca personally reached out to me, and I admired his enthusiasm and passion. That is when I knew this is where I belong. I am honored to be chosen for literally my dream job.
What do you love about your career path?
I grew up in small town in northern Minnesota where a majority of my family happened to be educators, staff, and coaches throughout my primary and secondary education. It appears we were born to be educators, and I can finally join them!
What should our students and families know about you?
Everything I do both professionally and personally, I do at 110%. I am transparent, approachable and compassionate - and most importantly, eager to learn and grow with this astonishing family.
I look forward to mentoring both young women and men in our mission, "to motivate young people to be better citizens" and support the CDH and JROTC values.
