Celebrating Hispanic Heritage with Music and Dance
October 12, 2022
Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15. At Cretin-Derham Hall, we celebrated on September 16 during Community Time.
The Hispanic Heritage month celebration was organized by a group of students working with Crystal Flint, our Student Advocate. The emcees for the assembly were Monica Garcia '23, Alana Nunez '24, and Paulina Hackett-Medina '23.
Yirii Dance, Mic Dos and Jazzy performed for a captivated crowd of students and teachers. All three performers were part of music and entertainment production company, The Avant Garde, founded by Chadwich Phillips. He produces concerts featuring Twin Cities artists within the genres of Neo-Soul/R&B, spoken-word poetry, conscious hip-hop, live instrumentalists and visual artists.
We are looking forward to our next event, the Native American Heritage Celebration, on November 7.
