The Cretin-Derham Hall Theater celebrated the holiday season with a run of performances of Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells Batman Smells. It is a story about a young first grader who is super excited about the Holiday Sing-Along and the Secret Santa gift exchange at her school. But when she draws the name of her arch nemesis, May, for her Secret Santa, Junie B. comes up with the perfect plan to teach a lesson! But the Christmas spirit of peace and goodwill interferes before she can give May what she thinks she deserves.
The Children’s Show is an opportunity for CDH students who have not participated in other shows to get involved in the many different aspects of putting on a play. From twelfth graders who have never performed in a play to ninth graders who have never built a set, there is a place for all experience levels.
CDH welcomed five different grade schools to see a school-day performance of our show. The theater was full of energy from the elementary students who were very excited to see live theater. The buzz and their laughter made the hard work worthwhile.
