1950s


CDH seniors Tommy Nicolo '24 and McKenna Schultz '24 spent time with alum Hugh McElroy ‘56 at the Marvella Senior Living in Highland Park.

 

1960s

Terry McEvoy ’67 is pleased to have Tim Kurtz ’72 as a new neighbor. Terry and Tim coached baseball in Roseville together for many years. 


Twenty alums from the Class of 1960 gather for their quarterly lunch at DeGidio's.

 

1970s

Len (Dusty) Hughes ‘70 says G'day from Sydney, Australia where he has been living for 40+ years. Besides running a successful business, he umpires baseball games on weekends, finished his eighth year as Santa at the Westfield Mall, and has done movies, TV shows and commercials. Here he is in a recent commercial that came out January 7: The Generation Gap 2024- Lamb Ad. He is the bloke on the push-bike.


Keven Bohman '72, Tom Schaffhausen '72, and Scott Murray '72 flew down to Dallas, TX to surprise Mike Gribben '72 on his 70th birthday in November of 2023. These Roseville boys would hitch-hike home from Cretin every day because the city bus did not go all the way to Roseville.


Pat Sweeney '75, the former WDAZ-TV sports anchor and KNOX newsman retired earlier this month after working as a newsman in Grand Forks for more than 40 years. He is a three-time state sportscaster of the year award winner (1985, 1989, 2005). He helped WDAZ win an Edward R. Murrow Award for its coverage of the 1997 Red River flood. In 2018 he was inducted into the NDAPSSA Hall of Fame.

 

1980s

Michael Loonan '83 celebrates ten years as a Senior Marketing Specialist with Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers. 


Adam Heffron ‘84 was voted in on January 10, 2024, to be the new Executive Director of the Ohio Expo Center and Ohio State Fair.

 

1990s

Tony Fisher '93 is owner and president of K1 Sportswear. K1 Sportswear has been chosen as the exclusive uniform and team store provider for PLAY Hockey's US business!  


Jerry Kline, Jr.’ 93, current CDH Phy Ed teacher and boys varsity basketball head coach, will be  inducted into the Mancini's Class of 2024 Hall of Fame. Coach Kline’s long-term success as a player and coach at CDH has earned him this spot on Mancini's Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place on Monday, May 13 at Mancini's Char House in Saint Paul.


Jessica Nowlin ’97 started her new position as Deputy General Counsel at MN Department of Education, in January 2024.

  

2000s 


Joe Mauer '01 was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. CDH is one of a select group of schools that have two alumni as first ballot Hall of Famers now that Mauer joins Cretin alum Paul Molitor '74 in this elite group! Go Raiders!

A new children's book, "The Right Thing To Do, the Joe Mauer Story," written by KSTP Sports Anchor Joe Schmitt debuted this month. Proceeds of the sale of the book will support the Highland Friendship Club and Thumbs Up.


Kristi Kempe ‘01 serves as the Director of Clinical Systems at Mayo Clinic. Kristi specializes in operational engagement and clinical change management with multi-site hospital organizations.


Colin ‘06 and Ryan McDonagh ‘07 with their coach Jim O’Neill ‘74 after the Nashville Predators vs the MN Wild hockey game on January 27.


Tim Smith ‘09 has joined the St. Paul Area Chamber Young Professionals Committee. Tim is a Development and Marketing Manager with Integrated Equity Management.

  

2010s

Mark Alt ’10 was interviewed in early January for the “I Played, Too” podcast on Spotify.


Frannie Gilligan '10 is noticed for Clare V's beautiful, bag-toting model. See her in Le Catch.


Ali Weiss Nomeland '11 was recently promoted to Senior UX Producer at Thomson Reuters. 


Monica Miley Beery ’14 starts a new position as Manager of Growth and Go-To-Market at The Harris Poll.


Ryan Marek ’14 has a new position as VP at AlixPartners.


Anna Zesbaugh '14, the CEO + Founder of Hooch Booch, launches a new beverage: Corpse Reviver, a hydration libation.


Daniel Oturo '18 is playing professional basketball in Turkey this year. Daniel, a former Gopher from Cretin-Derham Hall, has been dominant playing basketball in Istanbul and could get another chance in the NBA by the all-star break in February.


Luke Brower ‘19  starts his new role as a Research Analyst with JLL. Luke will focus on the Cleveland markets.


Mary Grace “MG” Shearon ’19 recently took a position as Band Director in the middle school at Watertown-Mayer Public Schools.


Emily King ‘19 is in her fifth season playing Division 1 hockey for the Union College in Schenectady, New York. King returns as a team captain and she has played in over 100 collegiate games.  Recently, she reached a milestone, scoring the program’s all-time record for assists (37).  


Charlie Soltis ‘19 has started a new position with New York Life Insurance Company.


Colleen Bird ‘19  is working as a Marketing Coordinator at Rosati's Franchise & Development, LLC. 

 

2020s

Matthew Gleason ’20 is in his first season playing Division 1 hockey for the University of St. Thomas. Gleason previously played two years Division 1 hockey for Colorado College.


Will Burke ‘20 was announced as a finalist and Pioneer Football League (PFL) nominee for the 2023 FedEx Ground Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award. Burke is currently a student at the University of St Thomas. This award is annually presented to a student-athlete who not only excels on the playing field and in the classroom, but in the community and beyond.


Breandan Smith '20 will work as an Accounting intern with CHS Inc. He is studying Finance at the University of St. Thomas.


Anne Dougherty, Business, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Teacher at CDH,will be featured with her family, including Seamus '22, and current CDH students Finn '24 and MJ '25, in the HGTV "House Hunters" episode about their search for a lake place in Northern MN. The show will air nationally on February 5.


Jake Fisher '23 was selected to play in the 2024 Chipotle All-American Game​ held on Jan​ 15 at ​the USA Hockey Arena in Mich​igan. The ​game featured top prospects eligible for the 2024 National Hockey League (NHL) draft​ and was broadcast live on NHL Network.
