Members of the Derham Hall Class of 1957 gathered for a May lunch at the Pool and Yacht Club.

 

Bill Walsh '57, Larry McMahon '57, and Jim Wandmacher '57 celebrated Larry McMahon's 85th birthday in May.

Terry McEvoy '67 met Tim McNeill ’51 at a recent charity event. Tim taught at Cretin when Terry was a freshman, before he left on his hockey odysseys. Terry never knew him at Cretin, but they had a great chat, with dozens of old names being tossed out. Tim says hello to all those he coached.

 

1970

Shaun McElhatton '77 was honored to be featured in two books that were published in April:  Enlightened Self-Interest: Individualism, Community and the Common Good and La Via Francigena, Step by Step: 2200 km from Canterbury to Rome

 

1990s

Chad Skally '93 just received the Behind the Scenes Award for his volunteer work at Holy Spirit Catholic School from MINNDEPENDENT (A non-profit organization that connects and strengthens Minnesota’s private and independent schools through programming, partnerships and public policy so members can be student-centered and mission-driven). This award is given to the unsung hero who goes above and beyond. To those who create a warm and caring environment behind the scenes.

 

2000s

Jim O'Neill '74 with Joe Mauer '01

Hall of Famer Joe Mauer '01 returned home to Cretin-Derham Hall to catch the first pitch from his high school coach Jim O'Neill '74 at the CDH vs Stillwater baseball game on Friday, May 18.

 

John Allen Nelson ‘02 is excited to share that he will be making his Carnegie Hall (New York) Debut as the Bass Soloist in Mozart's Coronation mass on May 27. This is a very exciting accomplishment in his career. John Allen Nelson is a baritone and has performed in many operas and symphonies around the U.S.

 

Sean Sweeney '02 was in town May 22 to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves as the Dallas Mavericks' lead assistant.

 

Cameron Cylkowski ‘05 is currently working on a few commercials and a TV series. Here are some of the local comedy and improv shows he has been involved with as a writer, director or actor! The TC - A sketch comedy show, Tubthumping Thursday, Huge Theater and Yeah, No Yeah.

Colin Caulfield '07 and his band DIIV will perform July 28 at First Avenue in Minneapolis. They will be performing songs from their fourth record, Frogs in Boiling Water, which was four+ years in the making.

 

2010s

Elizabeth Paige (Battarbee Dickson) '12 is an actor/producer. She recently was in an episode of Law & Order SVU, streaming on Peacock- Season 25, episode 11.

 
Truman Stewart '19 is has taken a position as a group sales account executive with the Detroit Tigers.

 

 

2020s

Stella Dolan '20 received the Community Impact Award at Bemidji State. Stella has made a tremendous impact throughout the community with volunteerism at United Way, the Mt Zion Church Soup Kitchen and multiple youth softball programs, while also serving on student and professional committees. In addition, Stella has been awarded the NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic Award, a three-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence selection and two-time BSU Most Outstanding Major Award winner in Sport Management.
