March 1, 2022
We are so proud of the winners of the ExCel and AAA awards!
The ExCEL Award – Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership – recognizes high school juniors who are active in school activities, leaders in their schools, and who demonstrate a strong commitment to community service.
The Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award, commonly known as the Triple 'A' Award, honors high school seniors throughout the state who have a 3.0 or higher GPA and who participate in athletic and fine arts activities.
Seamus Dougherty '22 - AAA Award
"Seamus is a hard worker who always looks for the positive in each situation. He is constantly encouraging and motivating his teammates to be the best that they can be. I see this on the pool deck and he was the same when he was in my class. He was the first person I thought of when I was asked for nominations due to his involvement with Band, Robotics, Mock Trial, and Swimming & Diving."
- Mike Steineman '92, Biology Teacher, Boys Swim & Dive Head Coach
Sam Koopmeiners '23 - ExCel Award
"Sam is a very humble young man who takes his academics, athletics, and arts very seriously and is very committed to CDH and his future. He is a great teammate and works extremely hard on the CDH boys basketball team. Sam is so deserving of this award."
- Jerry Kline '93, Boys Basketball Head Coach
Julianne Mason '22 - AAA Award
"Julianne Mason is a role model in our CDH community with many strengths. First, she is an achiever. This means any challenge she is given, she does everything in her control to accomplish it. Julianne achieves through hard work, dedication, and respect. She models these behaviors to all of her fellow student-athletes. What I admire most about Julianne is her big heart that she constantly shows towards her teammates. Julianne is trustworthy and reliable. I appreciate Julianne and am proud of what she has accomplished."
- Ali Pendergrass, Dance Team Head Coach
Anna Stangler '23 - ExCel Award
"Anna is an excellent student, who excels not only in the classroom but also on the field in both soccer and lacrosse. Anna is a great role model for her peers on how to manage her time to be successful in both athletics and academics."
