Empty Bowls To Be Held Feb. 1
January 22, 2017
“Give a man (or woman) a fish and you feed them for a day.
Teach them to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.”
This conviction is the focus of our 15th Annual Empty Bowls, and this is the belief that guides the work of Heifer International and inspires so many to support our annual Empty Bowls event.
In 14 years, due to the great generosity of so many, our CDH community has donated over $110,000 to Heifer International. It is our goal to break the $120,000 mark in total donations this year!!!
This year’s Empty Bowls will be held on February 1 in the Griep Family Gymnasium at CDH, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (lunch) and from 4 to 7 p.m. (dinner) at CDH.
Admission is open to the public. Guests are invited to select a handmade ceramic bowl created by students and local artisans, enjoy a delicious meal of soup and bread, and bid on our silent auction items. Guests will be asked to make a donation of $10.00 per person. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Heifer International Project. Together we have raised awareness and helped families and communities move to self-sufficient, self-sustaining lifestyles.
Thank you to our many local partners who donate soup, bread, silent auction items, and hand made ceramic bowls. It has made a life changing difference around the earth.
