Fall Review Welcomes 9th Graders to JROTC
October 9, 2019
The 2019 Fall Review, held on September 25, celebrated the anniversary of the first parade of the Corps of Cadets back on Thanksgiving Day, 1918. The ceremony formally marks the acceptance of the newest members into the Raider Brigade upon their completion of initial instruction in drill and ceremonies.
The Corps remains strong this year, with 275 Cadets (over 25% of the student body) organized in nine companies arranged in three battalions.
Our corps was blessed with a beautiful fall day as they marched on Wingerd Field in fine fashion. This event was the first formal event for our corps of cadets to celebrate the 101st year of JROTC at CDH. Major Daniel Hatzung, the Air Force Education Officer at the University of Minnesota, addressed the cadets about leadership challenges and the positive impact on JROTC students.
Some impressive ninth-graders were awarded the Brother Alphonsus Martel Leadership Scholarship and the Outstanding Drill Cadet Awards for their emerging leadership skills. Congratulations to these students:
