Fall Show Brings Theater Outside
October 12, 2021
The fall show, "The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood," is an outdoor production, with the stage being the lawn along the Hamline side of campus. Students have had a blast rehearsing outdoors, with neighborhood kids riding bikes by, people walking their dogs stopping to watch, and cars honking their support as they zip past.
"Robin Hood" is a fast-paced comedy, which makes it the perfect fit for Chris Hill '01's first show as Theater Director.
"This show is quick and FUNNY! Watching students own their humor and jokes sparks a lot of excitement for me," Hill said. "I love collaborating with students. They always know another way to take a joke to another level. I want to make sure everyone feels included, has a role and knows they can stretch their artistic and comedic muscles. If the cast has that kind of experience, then I feel like CDH Theater has had a successful show."
Billy Canter '23, who plays Robin Hood, has enjoyed the rehearsal process and is eager for audiences to see the show.
"The most fun part of this production so far has been watching my friends all develop their own take on their characters," he said. "It is always really fun and it’s quality time with them. People should watch this play to see the hard work everyone put in to making it what it is. It’s outside and fun for everyone."
All performances will be held outside this weekend. See showtimes and get your tickets today!
