August 28, 2015

Francis M. Miley, J.D., was formally installed today as President of Cretin-Derham Hall in an all-school Mass and Installation Ceremony with students, faculty, staff and friends of the school.

"Frank Miley is a passionate leader who looks toward the future with enthusiasm and purpose while being dedicated to the values that have created such remarkable students and alumni throughout our rich history," remarked Michele Hren, Chair, CDH Board of Directors. "The Cretin-Derham Hall mission and our devotion to our founding sponsors is in good hands with Frank – and we are blessed to have a leader of his caliber to steer CDH as we continue to provide excellence in Catholic secondary education for our community."

Formerly the Executive Vice President and Director of Development at CDH, Miley served as President at Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria MN and Vice President for Strategic Planning and Administration at William Mitchell College of Law. In addition, his early career focused on teaching and campus ministry at St. Thomas Academy. As an attorney, Miley also worked for the Ramsey County Attorney's Office.

"We are blessed with our rich legacy of the Christian Brothers and the Sisters of St. Joseph's of Carondelet. This gives us a foundation for the uniquely transformative impact, we believe, that a Catholic high school can – and should - have on each and every student's life," noted Miley.

Miley challenged the students to be humbled by the privilege it is to be a member of this community and a recipient of a Cretin–Derham Hall education. "Your families and your community, along with a highly talented and dedicated faculty and staff, are working together to provide you with a truly outstanding education – what will you do with your time here?" He further challenged the community to work in unity for these goals. "We are the builders of our community. When we act in solidarity, we empower each individual to reach his or her God-given potential."
