Girls Basketball Thanks Favorite Teachers
February 9, 2021
Each year, Girls Basketball holds a Teacher Appreciation Night, to recognize the faculty that have made an impact on them. On February 2, they held this year's celebration via Zoom.
All three teams (Varsity, JV, and B) participated, with each player choosing a teacher that means a lot to her. The student-athletes each took turns explaining why they chose the staff member they did.
"There were only a couple of teachers chosen by more than one student which says a lot about the great support that is here at CDH," said Head Coach Crystal Flint. "We learned of one student's love for writing that a teacher developed, how one teacher is able to present a complex subject in an easy manner, how one teachers' smile and jokes truly brightens the students' day, and how another teacher teaches life lessons through cooking."
Although the event was billed as Teacher Appreciation, two players chose staff members to recognize: Peggy Mansur in Attendance and Miguel Limon in Facilities.
"I love how thoughtful our girls were and that they thought about two people in the building that may sometimes go unnoticed or left out," Flint said. "To see the girls recognize their contribution to the students was heartwarming."
