Homecoming Mass Celebrates Home

September 22, 2023

The Homecoming Mass was celebrated on September 20 and was officiated by Father Pat Kennedy. It centered around the theme of "Home." Mark McGuire, reflecting on the Mass, highlighted some key elements that made it special.

Student participation played an important role in creating a meaningful experience for everyone. Among the participants were Luna McLeod '24 and Andrew Ek '25, who performed a beautiful rendition of the song "13" and Calla Massari '24, who composed and delivered a beautiful reflection on love, emphasizing how it can bring a sense of heaven into each other's lives. A special shout-out to Delilah Schuster who was in charge of the musical program for the mass, which included two new students.

One of the unique features of the Homecoming Mass was the circular seating arrangement. "I love that we sat in the round and hopefully we can do that more often," said McGuire. A highlight was when some of the students got up and had a little "dance line" going when Steven Tacheny and the students sang "Home."

McGuire felt Massari's message of learning to love oneself and relying on good friends for support struck a chord with the school community. "I love that statement about our community, because I believe that happens here."
