Leadership Lunch Series: Local Leaders Share Their Stories with Students
November 21, 2022
Our greater Cretin-Derham Hall community is loaded with talented, successful business leaders. Anne Dougherty, our new business teacher and a successful entrepreneur herself, is determined to bring students and business leaders together through a new program called the Leadership Lunch Series which will feature local entrepreneurs who are willing to share their insights with students.
The Leadership Lunch Series is kicking off on November 30 and the theme for this first session is “Passion to Profession: Sports Entrepreneurship.”
An impressive group of business founders is coming in for this first session. Brigid Ryan Ling of TackleBar and RAZR, Marty Wetherall of LeagueOS and Youth Drone Sports Championships, and Tony Fisher of K1 Sportswear will be sharing their stories with the students and answering questions. Business students will have the priority to attend this session, with the remaining spots available to the rest of the school.
Ms. Dougherty is hoping that exposing students to a wide variety of professional journeys will expand their thinking and start conversations. She would like them to see that professionals’ and entrepreneurs’ career paths are not necessarily linear.
The next sessions are in the works! They will include Risk Taking/Failure, Artificial Intelligence, and Small Business.
If you are interested in coming in and sharing your business story with our students, please contact Anne Dougherty. This will not only be a great service to our young students, but a rewarding experience for you as well.
