The Lenten Season at Cretin-Derham Hall

Each year, Christians around the world gather on Ash Wednesday to begin the season of Lent, a time in which we are reminded of our temporal human existence, "Remember your are dust, and to dust you shall return." But more importantly, people of faith come together to hold up the blessed gift of Life Eternal given to us by our God's love and grace through the person of Jesus Christ.
The foundational practice of Prayer, Fasting, and the giving of Alms during Lent offers us a special opportunity during these 40 days. These days provide a time to grow closer to our God, to ourselves and the person God has created us to be, to the Dear Neighbor near and far, and to God's creation. In each of these relationships, injury and separation have been experienced and healing is needed.
As a CDH community, the focus of our Lenten Season will be the "Healing" of broken relationships.
- Week 1/March 7: The Healing of our relationship with ourselves and God.
- Week 2/March 21: The Healing of our relationships with Others and God.
- Week 3/March 28: The Healing of our relationships with Family and God.
- Week 4/ April 4: The Healing of our relationships with our Global Community and God.
- Week 5/April 11: The Healing of our relationships within our CDH Community and God.
