Letter from the Principal

Principal Mona Passman
January 10, 2018

 Dear Parents and Guardians,

This has been a difficult week at CDH as we mourn the death of Assistant Athletic Director, Kelley Hood.  Kelley was a "regular" guy and that's what made him so special.

In a society that honors wealth, fame and material goods, Kelley was a remarkable exception.  He dedicated his life to what truly matters: faith in God and faith in people.

He loved his family above all else, especially his wife Colleen, daughter Kristin and her husband Jordan.  He truly delighted in his grandchildren, Judah Kelley and Joy Elizabeth.

He committed his life to high school students and their growth as human beings.  He spent many hours in high school classrooms, gyms, arenas, and athletic fields.  He didn't care about glamour and fame.  He cared about people.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the Hood family.  Thank you to the entire community for your outpouring of sympathy to them and the students and staff at CDH.

As we say goodbye to Kelley, let's honor him by recognizing all those who commit their lives to our young people.  As Kelley exemplified throughout his life, that's what really matters.
