Letter from the Principal - April 2025
April 9, 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy Spring!
I was reminded of spring when I looked at the school calendar this weekend. While some people define seasons by the weather and calendar, educators recognize them through school culture, events, and student behavior.
While many celebrations are ahead, I want to remind parents and students that the academic school year isn’t over. We still have several weeks of classes and school events ahead. Attendance and involvement are vital for a strong finish to the school year. Additionally, teachers continue to hold high academic expectations for students as they prepare the culminating lessons of the year. I acknowledge that it can be challenging to hold teenagers accountable. Sometimes, it’s easier for educators and parents to give in to our students’ pleas. In those moments, we must remind ourselves that those decisions may unintentionally hurt our students and their learning environment.
Spring is a time to celebrate. It brings numerous opportunities for students, teachers, parents, and the entire school community to unite. The events we observe become more meaningful as we approach summer and prepare to say goodbye. This will be our seniors' final experience at CDH and the conclusion of their first year of high school for our ninth graders. Let’s help them finish strong.
We look forward to celebrating with you and our students.
Have a blessed Easter.
