Lyle the Crocodile a Hit!
January 5, 2017
The CDH Theater produced the children's play Lyle the Crocodile based on the children's book series by Bernard Waber and adapted to the stage by local writer Kevin Kling. Several grade schools including Holy Spirit, Highland Catholic, Expo, Pine Bend (Inver Grove Heights) and Tesfa International got the chance to bring their students over for daytime matinees on Dec. 13 and14.
The show opened to the public the weekend of Dec. 15-18. A snowstorm and frigid weather resulted in cancelled performances, but the performers were flexible and added shows throughout the weekend. The Lyle the Crocodile run ended with its final show after school on Monday, December 19.
Several audience members commented on the unique opportunity to have a "New York City Tour Package" in addition to their ticket. This special addition offered audience members a hot dog, pretzel, crocodile cookie and a fun craft to take home. Congratulations to students Chendamee Hing and Andrew Theisen for their organization and creativity in adding the NYC package for CDH audiences to enjoy.
