Musical Theater Students Shine in Trimester Showcase
March 5, 2025
Students in Musical Theater, co-taught by Choir Director, Ms. Schuster and Theater Director, Mr. Wiley, took the stage at the Lillian Theater on March 4 for a showcase, highlighting the results of their trimester-long dedication and hard work.
The class focused on essential skills such as audition techniques, resume building, performance repertoire, and scene blocking. Students also researched songs and musicals, with selections tailored to their individual performance goals and voice types.
"This year, we had a good mix of students with theater experience and students who were completely new to performing," said Ms. Schuster. "Regardless of their level of experience coming in, each student grew throughout the trimester."
The trimester culminated in a performance that allowed students to put their skills into action. "The showcase is a fun final assessment opportunity because it allows friends and family to support and enjoy the product of the performers' hard work," Ms. Schuster added.
