November 11, 2020
Cretin-Derham Hall has contracted with Dr. Jules Nolan to provide one on one support and coaching for educators who might find it helpful. These sessions are meant for individual support and coaching, and will provide teachers professional support as they problem-solve, discuss thoughts, feelings, emotions, or other concerns, and determine next best steps.
Dr. Nolan is the president-elect of the Minnesota School Psychology Association, chairwoman of the Issues in Human Diversity Committee for International School Psychology Association, and adjunct Faculty Minnesota State University, Departments of Psychology and Special Education. She is also the co-author of Real World, Real Challenges: Adolescent Issues in Contemporary Society, a college textbook on adolescent psychology. Dr. Nolan has previously conducted group sessions at CDH.
"The past 8 months have been a difficult period amidst the pandemic, civil unrest, racial injustice, the election and the divisiveness in our nation. We know that many people are feeling stressed and overwhelmed," said Principal Mona Passman.
These confidential sessions are meant to provide additional support to teachers through a year that has been stressful for many people.
