New Structure for Student Council

The structure of the Student Council has been changed to better respond to the needs of the student body next year. More than 60 students applied for12 spots on the Executive Board, four for each class. 

 

The Executive Board has begun to plan fall events as well as the structure of the larger Student Council. The 9th-grade representatives will be selected in the fall of 2020. Students will apply for general Student Council membership in the fall of 2020.

 

Alexis Rooney '21 has been dedicated to Student Council throughout her time at CDH, and is excited to move to this new structure.

 

"I believe the new structure is large enough that multiple ideas and perspectives will be communicated and that students will be able to bounce ideas off one another," she said. "At the same time, the structure is small enough that no voice will feel overshadowed by another. Additionally, I believe having representatives from all grade levels will help bring positive change to all grades. Next school year, I think CDH will be seeing positive growth especially in the areas of creativity and communication between students and administration. Creativity will be shown in the planning and execution of events and in coming up with new ideas as to how to connect with the student body."
