Night to Fight Homelessness Raises Awareness
November 14, 2018
Grounded in the legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph and the Brothers of the Christian Schools, the CDH Lasallian Youth group is focused on the work of exploring and supporting Faith, Service, Community, and Justice. The group gathers weekly on Fridays during lunch and homeroom. All students are invited to gather as their schedule allows and join a time of prayer, conversation, stories, reflection, and prayer.
On November 3-4, 2018, more than 100 Lasallian Youth from Cretin-Derham Hall, Totino-Grace, DeLaSalle, Holy Family, and Benilde-St. Margaret’s hosted their 7th annual Lasallian Youth Night to Fight Homeless. The overnight event included speakers helping students understand the challenges facing young adults who are living on the streets of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Though the night on the football field was cold, all participants, students and adult moderators alike, gained a deeper sense of empathy and understanding of what it might be like to be without a home.
