November is Month of Remembrance
October 26, 2020
Traditionally, we remember and pray for our deceased loved ones throughout the month of November. As Christians, we do not emphasize our distance from the dead. Rather we speak of our communion with them in Christ. In fact, it is believed that the space between heaven and earth is very thin at this particular time of the year. All souls and all of the saints surround us.
The month of November begins with the celebration of the Feast of All Saints (Sunday, November 1) and concludes on Saturday, November 28, the last day of the liturgical year.
During this sacred month, a Wall of Remembrance will be placed in the Link. Please add the names of people that you want to remember and cherish. You may want to write something brief and/or attach their memorial card. We encourage everyone to look at the names on the wall and pray for all the loved ones who have passed.
The Book of Remembrance, which holds the names of deceased alums, benefactors, and friends of CDH from the past year, will also be revered in the Brother James Miller chapel.
As we enter this sacred month, may perpetual light shine upon all who have died. May the souls of all of the departed, through the mercy of God, rest, and live eternally, in peace. Amen.
