Patients will Benefit from Blanket Project by Mary Andrzejek '19
October 9, 2018
Mary Andrzejek ’19 began an ambitious project earlier this year that concluded when 46 blankets were donated to Gillette Children’s Hospital!
Mary decided to take on the tie blanket project after her brother had spent time at the Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul. The hospital provides all patients with a fleece tie blanket that they can take home with them.
She set up a Go Fund Me page to seek donations for her project. Mary’s original goal was to make 25 blankets, and she projected that she would need approximately $500 dollars to achieve that goal.
The goal was easily exceeded when Mary raised more than $800 dollars with the generous help of many from the Cretin-Derham Hall community.
Then, with the help of the CDH JROTC Raider Brigade, Mary and her fellow Cadets spent a Sunday afternoon putting the blankets together. Mary delivered all 46 blankets to the hospital on September 27, 2018!
