February 12, 2025
The Cretin-Derham Hall Raider Brigade hosted the 33rd Annual Upper Midwest JROTC Challenge (UMJC) on February 7, welcoming nearly 300 cadets from 12 regional Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps JROTC programs. Approximately 30 CDH cadets competed, while more than 100 others helped run the event’s various competitions.
Cadets competed in a range of events, including Regulation Drill (precision marching), Color Guard, Knowledge Bowl, Physical Fitness, Archery, Air Rifle, and Tug-O-War. The event was entirely student-run, with instructors providing oversight.
The CDH Raider Brigade delivered an impressive performance, finishing 2nd overall. Several teams earned top placements: Archery and Tug-O-War claimed first place, Knowledge Bowl secured second, and Air Rifle and Physical Fitness took third. The Color Guard team narrowly missed placing by just one point, while the Regulation Drill team had one of the top performances in the competition.
