Raider Sports Have Impressive Spring Season

Our Raider spring sports season has been electric, with many teams and individual student-athletes qualifying for state!

Congratulations to the Softball team who finished an incredible season with their fourth trip to the state tournament, finishing as state runner-up. The team finished with a 20-7 overall record and returns all but two team members next season. Brooke Nesdahl ’25 was named All-State and Sammy Haider ’24 was selected to play in the state all-star game.

The Boys Golf team captured the Section 4AAA Championship by defeating Stillwater and a host of others by 30 strokes. Sam Udovich ’25 captured the Section 4AAA Individual Championship shooting a two round score of -12 and winning by 11 strokes. The team played in the state tournament June 11 and 12 at Bunker Hills.

Congratulations to Lily Vincelli ’24 of the girls golf team who captured the Section 4AAA Individual Championship and is playing in the state tournament June 11 and 12 at Bunker Hills. Lily was also named a 2024 Ms. Minnesota Golf finalist.

The Girls Lacrosse team defeated Woodbury 12-9 on June 6 to win the Section 3 Championship and advanced to the state tournament for the first time in five years. They played in the state quarterfinal game vs. Lakeville South on June 11. Sofia Watts ’24 was named to the USA Lacrosse All-American team as well as 1st team All-State and a 2024 Miss Lacrosse Minnesota finalist.

CDH Track and Field has two individuals qualify for the state meet. Michael Seifu ’25 competed in the 100 M high hurdles and the 300 M intermediate hurdles. Michael qualified for the finals in the 300 M intermediate hurdles and finished 7th in the state as well, setting a new school record that he previously set. Mason Kuchenmeister ’24 finished 12th in the 200 M dash. 

The baseball team finished the season with a 14-9 record and had key wins over state powers East Ridge x2, Stillwater and rival St. Thomas Academy. PJ Jones ’24 was named the team MVP and Brady Stokeland ’25 was named the offensive player of the year.

The Boys Lacrosse team finished the season with a 9-6 record and had big wins over Woodbury and St. Thomas Academy. Luke Chorlton ’24 and Aidan Siegfried ’24 will both continue their lacrosse careers at Maryville University. 

The Boys Tennis team continues to show improvement with a very youthful roster. They competed well all spring and the future is very bright for this team going forward.

As the spring season wraps up, the 2023-2024 Raider athletic season has had one of the most memorable years in recent history. In all, 7 teams went on to state tournaments along with several individuals who qualified for the state tournament. Here is a recap of our state qualifiers:
