Raiders Win Honors in 3AA Speech Tournament
Ellen Weber '12, Head Speech Coach
March 31, 2017
The CDH Speech Team competed in the 3AA Sections Tournament on March 23.
CDH Speech is about creating space where young people can use their voice while gaining confidence in their own abilities. This year we had seven students compete: Senior Ryan Klein, Juniors Katie Mattocks, Grace Regala, Linda Johnson, Katie Schearer, Abe Teuber, and Sophomore Shane Nelson. Each of them had spent many hours and Saturday Tournaments preparing for this night.
We had two finalists, Abe Teuber and Ryan Klein. Abe received 6th place and Ryan will be heading to the State Tournament in April after receiving First Place. We are incredibly proud of the team for all the dedication they have put in to making it a great season!
Special thanks to Jack Malone-Povolny and Sheila Malone-Povolny for being practice coaches and Jenn Androsky for being an amazing Assistant Coach. Thanks as well to our judges, parents, and Captains Ryan Klein and Cat Gomez.
