Supply Bags Support People Experiencing Homelessness

Raiders are always looking for ways to help the dear neighbor, so it should be no surprise that when Remi Pye '22 realized how many people are currently experiencing homelessness in St. Paul, he wanted to help.
Pye reached out to the Student Council Executive Board, which collaborated with him to collect essential supplies and put them, along with lists of resources and contact information, into bags to be handed out to individuals.
"We wanted to take on this project to help the people in need but also to raise awareness of the adversities that the people in our own neighborhood face every day," said Kate Sticha '22 and Allie Sotwatzka '22 in an email. "There are so many people facing hunger, extreme temperatures, and having no place to call home. The CDH community wanted to be directly involved with the donation process instead of simply handing it off to another program, so we decided to pack the bags ourselves."
The group was able to put together 98 complete bags, in addition to separate supplies to be distributed individually.
