Welcome New Staff and Faculty
October 17, 2016
The school year began with several new faces at CDH. Join us in welcoming these new faculty and staff members:
Aaron Benner is the 9th Grade Dean of Students and Diversity Coordinator. A graduate of University of St. Thomas, for both undergrad and graduate school, he has spent many years working with St. Paul area kids as a teacher and behavior coach. Most recently, he was the African-American Liaison and Behavior Coach at Community of Peace Academy, a public charter school in St. Paul. Raised Catholic, he always wanted to work in in Catholic education and comes to CDH excited about the opportunity to work with our students. In addition to his career in education, he is currently writing a book and hopes to have it published in two years. Some things he enjoys include: walking and bike-riding and shooting free-throws in a gym, and Miami Beach!
Rob Bollinger joins the Advancement Staff as Major Gift Officer. He and his wife recently moved to the Twin Cities from Bemidji where he was Executive Director for University Advancement for Bemidji State University. Also a former football coach/athletic director at both the high school and college level, he is also working with his son, Brooks Bollinger as an Assistant Football Coach. In addition to his love of football, golf and old movies, he truly enjoys his 10 grandchildren.
Andrew Bourgoin has joined CDH as Choir Director. He graduated from St. Olaf College. Formerly a freelance music director at the Ordway Center for Performing Arts, Hennepin Theater Trust, Children’s Theater Company and several college programs, he is familiar to our community as a guest artist-in-residence at CDH last year. “I love building and growing, and that’s exactly what excites me so much about CDH!”In addition to his passion for music, Bourgoin enjoys going out to dinner and chatting with friends over coffee.
Joining the Counseling staff is Kaitlyn Shead. A graduate of the College of St. Benedict, she earned her Master’s in Counseling from University of New Mexico. Most recently she was the school counselor at Tri-City United High School in Montgomery, MN. Prior to that she was a family support worker in schools in both Lakeville and Mendota Heights. She explains what attracted her to CDH, “It is so apparent ,from the outside in, at what a strong, tight-knit community is here at CDH, plus I’m really impressed by the emphasis on values at CDH as well as CASA!” Outside of work, she is busy at home with her husband and two young children.
Marcy Sticha is a new Math teacher and first came to CDH a few years ago as a long-term sub. She has previously taught at South High School and DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis. She is also completing her Masters in Education from the Univeristy of Minnesota later this spring. A sense of community is important to her, and one of the reasons she was drawn to teach at CDH. She also noted, "I am a strong believer in the values of the Christian Brothers and the Sisters of St. Joseph." She also enjoys spending time with family and friends at their family cabin.
Samuel Vetch wears many hats here at CDH: Religion Teacher, Campus Ministry Staff and DeLaSalle Volunteer. He graduated from Saint Mary’s University in Winona. “The Lasallian charism drew me to CDH, as well as the history (of this school) and opportunity to work with a fantastic group of students.” He is interested in choral and liturgical music, basketball, volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee, at least when he is not cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Minnesota Vikings.
